From a question to a working model.
At Kiz8, data science sits between engineering and applied research. We’re looking for a Data Scientist to investigate financial data, test hypotheses, and turn promising approaches into systems people can use.
You’ll work with engineers and researchers, following a problem from the first exploratory analysis through evaluation and into a real workflow.
What you’ll work on
- Explore transaction and operational data, assess its quality, and find the signals that matter.
- Build and evaluate statistical and machine learning models for problems such as anomaly detection, fraud, and decision support.
- Design experiments with clear baselines, useful metrics, and reproducible results.
- Collaborate with engineers to bring models into production and understand how they perform over time.
- Communicate findings, trade-offs, and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical teammates.
What you’ll bring
- Practical experience using Python and SQL to work with real-world datasets.
- A solid understanding of statistics, machine learning, and model evaluation.
- Good judgment about data leakage, uncertainty, and the difference between a useful model and a good-looking benchmark.
- The ability to structure an open-ended problem and explain your reasoning.
Useful, not requiredExperience with financial data, fraud or risk modelling, time series, or deploying models.
Show us how you think.
Send your CV or profile and a short note about a project you’ve worked on: the question, your approach, and what you learned. Links to code, research, or a write-up are welcome.
